The 6-Series is BMW's luxury coupe and convertible line. The luxury coupe is a traditional segment for BMW and the 6-Series debuted in the late 1970s, running through the 1989 model year, with the 635 CSi becoming one of the most recognized BMW models. The 6-Series returned for 2004 with both coupe and convertible versions. A two-plus-two personal convertible with obvious sporting pretensions, the 650i is revised to include more power, better handling and efficiency. Add to that a cockpit that has been revised, for more rear seat passenger comfort. BMW engineers have managed to accomplish this feat with the use of a fabric soft top rather than the folding metal hardtop often found in this segment.
